Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Committee on Economic Development and Housing to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Council President Rich Fitzgerald or his designee will serve as the presiding officer.

The primary purpose of these hearings is to allow the public opportunity to comment on Bill Numbers 3656-08 and 3657-08, each of which addresses the importance of community input to economic development projects. Public testimony will be scheduled beginning at 5:00. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings and are also asked to provide twenty copies of their testimony. Written testimony will be accepted through Friday, March 28, 2008.
Council Members William Russell Robinson, Chuck McCullough and Rich Fitzgerald have made commitments to attend the hearing.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Committee on Economic Development and Housing is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Council President Rich Fitzgerald or his designee will serve as the presiding officer. All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
