Penn State Greater Allegheny

This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Penn State Greater Allegheny for reaching several significant milestones including a new name reflecting your expanded mission, your 50th anniversary at your current location, and the 25th anniversary of the founding of your Alumni Society.  On January 19, 2007, the Penn State Board of Trustees formally changed the name of Penn State McKeesport to Penn State Greater Allegheny which supports the campus' regional presence.  With more than 50 years of service to Western Pennsylvania at the McKeesport location, Penn State Allegheny is a leader in academic excellence, technology and diversity.  Twenty-five years ago the Alumni Society was created and today, more than 22,000 Penn State alumni live in Allegheny County.  This Council recognizes and honors Penn State Greater Allegheny for its long and committed partnership with the Pittsburgh region and for bringing the resources of a world-class university to the region, and through your commitment to teaching, research, and service.
