MOTION EXPRESSING THE SENSE OF COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY

Supporting the state plan which provides Allegheny County with the greatest number of District Justices.

Body

Whereas, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is currently considering two plans which would revise the minor judiciary system in Allegheny County; and

Whereas, one plan would eliminate City Housing Court in its entirety and the other plan would retain City Housing Court but would result in fewer District Justices in outlying areas of Allegheny County.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, AND IT IS THE SENSE OF THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,

That this Council hereby supports the state plan which provides Allegheny County with the greatest number of District Justices.
