Proclamation declaring February 5, 2009 "MWDBE Governmental Committee Business Opportunity Fair Day" in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, this year marks the 8th Annual Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MWDBE) Governmental Committee's “Business Opportunity Fair”; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the MWDBE Governmental Committee is to create effective methods that strengthen economic opportunities for Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises; to provide assistance enabling contractors and businesses to secure contracts in the goods and service, construction and professional services markets leading to profitability and growth for these businesses; and
WHEREAS, the theme of the 2009 Business Opportunity Fair is “Promoting Success” and it is an opportunity for MWDBE companies to market their businesses to local, state and federal government agencies and other organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize the continued good works of the MWDBE Governmental Committee and their co-sponsors, the Allegheny Regional Asset District, and the Community College of Allegheny County. Furthermore, this Council does hereby declare February 5, 2009 “MWDBE Governmental Committee Business Opportunity Fair Day” in Allegheny County.
