Proclamation honoring Kurt Kondrich and his daughter, Chloe, for being named finalists for the 2015 Health Care Heroes Awards, a program honoring individuals and organizations in western Pennsylvania’s health care industry.

WHEREAS, Kurt Kondrich, a developmental therapist with Therapeutic Early Intervention Services, Inc. is a former law enforcement officer. The birth of his daughter Chloe and the impact of early intervention on her development inspired Kurt to redefine his life mission to serving children with developmental delays; and
WHEREAS, Kurt and Chloe Kondrich became advocates and enabled former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett to sign the Down Syndrome Prenatal Education Act in 2014, a bill named “Chloe’s Law,” demonstrating that children with Down syndrome are full of hope, potential and light; and
WHEREAS, Kurt and Chloe have been named finalists for the 2015 Health Care Heroes awards, a program honoring individuals and organizations in our region’s health care industry; and
WHEREAS, on September 9, 2015, the father and daughter will be honored at the Health Care Heroes awards event at the Omni William Penn in downtown Pittsburgh;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Kurt and Chloe Kondrich for having been named finalists for the 2015 Health Care Heroes Awards and for their commitment and dedication to the cause.
