Proclamation honoring distinguished CCAC alumnus Mr. Peter DeComo for proactively serving Allegheny County.
Body
WHEREAS, Mr. Peter M. DeComo has exemplified the definition of a dedicated citizen of our great County with his demonstration of civic and community leadership; and
WHEREAS, Mr. DeComo graduated in 1973 from the Community College of Allegheny County, and, in 2009, received an honorary Associates of Arts and Humane Letters degree from the college; and
WHEREAS, Mr. DeComo has a passion for advancing the development of life science companies in the Pittsburgh region as evidenced by his founding of Renal Solutions, Incorporated; to accomplish this goal, he devotes a majority of his time and effort to numerous entrepreneurial and community-based activities, including acting as director for Pittsburgh LifeSciences Greenhouse and as a member of United States Congressman Jason Altmire's Health Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the life sciences community, the Community College of Allegheny awarded Mr. DeComo the CCAC “Hall of Fame Lifetime Legends Award for Leadership” in 2008;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, recognizes Mr. Peter M. DeComo, a 1973 graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, for serving the county proactively and honorably. Furthermore, his fine leadership should be adopted by residents of the County for the betterment of our community.
