Whereas, Designed AV Solutions has offered to donate one (1) drone to the County for use by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office in fire and explosion investigations and by the Allegheny County Emergency Management Agency in emergency and disaster response, when necessary; and

Whereas, the County’s Fire Marshal’s Office and Emergency Management Agency wish to accept the aforesaid donation; and

Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2(j) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County’s Council with the power to accept donations of personal property on behalf of the County.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1. Incorporation of Preamble.

The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.

SECTION 2. Authorization to Accept Donated Equipment.

County Council does hereby authorize the acceptance of one (1) drone donated by the Designed AV Solutions for use by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office in fire and explosion investigations and by the Allegheny County Emergency Management Agency in emergency and disaster response, when necessary. The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.


SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.
