Pulling Bill No. 8525-14, An Ordinance of the Council of the County of Allegheny ratifying amendments to Allegheny County Health Department Rules and Regulations, for purposes of establishing a Food Grading System, pursuant to Section 12011 of the Local Health Administration Law, 16 P.S. §12001 et seq., from committee for an immediate and final vote.
WHEREAS, Bill No. 8525-14 was introduced in a Regular Meeting of Council on October 7, 2014 and referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services; and
WHEREAS, the Local Health Administration Law, 16 P.S. § 12011, requires that the Council approve or deny regulations within 30 days of their introduction and Bill No. 8525-14 has, as of today, been before County Council for 14 days since its introduction on October 7th and has not yet been considered or placed on an agenda within the Committee on Health and Human Services; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of Allegheny County Council, Article IV, Section B, allow for bills to be pulled from committee by the vote of a two-thirds majority of the seated Members of Council if such motion is made less than sixty (60) days from the date of the first reading of the bill;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
That this Council hereby pulls Bill No. 8525-14 from the Committee on Health and Human Services, and authorizes an immediate final vote on the bill.
