Proclamation recognizing Amie Downs for her consistent dedication and for her contributions to the new County government while serving both County Council and the citizens of Allegheny County.
Body
WHEREAS, since its inception, Allegheny County Council has been fortunate in its ability to employ staff whose knowledge and determination have contributed greatly to the foundation and growth of Council as a vital part of Allegheny County government; and
WHEREAS, Amie Downs has repeatedly proven herself willing to exceed the expectations of Council and her fellow staff members with her exemplary work ethic and commitment to the dignity of County Council; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Downs was hired by County Council in March of 2002, and since that time she has repeatedly comported herself with grace and professionalism in researching and drafting legislation at the request of Council for its consideration; and
WHEREAS, throughout her tenure with Council, Ms. Downs has given untiring service to this County and the Council, provided support to its Members, assisted in training new staff, and has transitioned to the position of Director of Legislative Services; and
WHEREAS, both Council Members and staff have come to regard Ms. Downs as a friend who will be greatly missed as she begins a new opportunity as Executive Director of the Office of State Senator Wayne Fontana;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Ms. Amie Downs for her consistent dedication and for her contributions to the new County government while serving both County Council and the citizens of Allegheny County. Council hereby bestows its most sincere thanks and extends its most profound wishes for happiness and success in the future.
