Proclamation welcoming the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Governments (PACOG) to Allegheny County for the 2008 PACOG Conference.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Governments (PACOG) was established in 1973 as a voluntary organization open to Councils of Government throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and

                     

WHEREAS, the PACOG operates under the mission of fostering a cooperative joint effort in solving common municipal issues that affect the nearly 4 million Pennsylvania residents represented by PACOG; and

 

WHEREAS, PACOG is led by David J. Pasternak, President and Member of Twin Rivers COG, Vice-Presidents Ron Angle, Slate Belt COG; Francis Exposito, Lawrence County Regional COG; and Joseph Yannuzzi, Mountain COG; as well as past President John Sivick, Pocono Mountains COG and Executive Director Linda Costa; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2008 PACOG Annual Conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh in Green Tree, Pennsylvania; and

 

WHEREAS, the event will provide Councils of Government from throughout Pennsylvania with the opportunity to join together to meet the challenges of intergovernmental cooperation;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council welcomes the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Governments to Pittsburgh and joins with you in celebration of the 2008 PACOG Conference.  On behalf of the residents of Allegheny County, we thank you for your commitment and dedication to working together to make Pennsylvania a better place to live.
