WHEREAS, White Oak Animal Safe Haven, Inc. is a no-kill animal shelter located in the Borough of White Oak; and
WHEREAS, the organization is governed by a board of directors made up of their Founder, Ms. Ina Marton, and other local caring residents and business people; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, October 21st, 2006, White Oak Animal Safe Haven, Inc. will hold their Fourth Annual Charity Fido Ball at the Youghiogheny Country Club; and
WHEREAS, KDKA's David Crawley is guest emcee, while entertainment, cocktails and dinner, a Chinese and silent auction will help raise funds for the shelter; and
WHEREAS, thanks to the many volunteers, business and community support, White Oak Animal Safe Haven has successfully provided loving homes for thousands of animals;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby join in celebrating the Fourth Annual Charity Fido Ball and recognizes White Oak Animal Safe Haven, Inc. for their significant contributions to enhancing the quality of life for numerous animals and pet owners in Allegheny County.
