An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing acceptance of a five (5) year old horse from Michael Funk, 8822 Adamsville Road, Hartstown, Pennsylvania for use by the County Police.

Whereas, Michael Funk has offered to donate a five (5) year old horse to Allegheny County for use in Allegheny County for mounted police work; and
Whereas, the horse, “Dottie”, has been examined by a veterinarian who has determined the horse is sound and has a temperament suitable to mounted police work; and
Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2.j. of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County's Council with the power to accept donations of personal property on behalf of the County.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1 Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by
reference in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Acceptance of Eight (8) Year Old Horse
County Council does hereby authorize the acceptance of “Dottie”, a five (5) year old horse donated by Michael Funk of Hartstown, Pennsylvania. The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. Repealer. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
