Proclamation honoring The Honorable Donald L. Dolde for his years of service as the Mayor of Bridgeville.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as The Honorable Donald L. Dolde, who has placed his stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, as both a public servant and strong leader; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dolde, a longtime resident of Bridgeville, was elected as the Mayor of the Borough of Bridgeville in 1989 and has served 24 years in office; and
WHEREAS, for 19 years, Mr. Dolde has served as a board member of the Pennsylvania State Mayors' Association (PSMA), and he has the distinction of serving as president of the organization for 4 of those years; and
WHEREAS, in 2007, the PSMA selected Mayor Dolde as the recipient of the "Mayor of the Year" award, topping 1,000 of his colleagues across the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Dolde has served on the Bridgeville Borough Planning Commission for over 20 years, and he supports many local organizations and activities, including the American Legion Memorial Day Parade, the Bridgeville Centennial Celebration, Senior Project Day at Chartiers Valley High School and the Bridgeville Athletic Association; he is also the founder of the Bridgeville Ministerium Ecumenical Youth Choir, and his love of music led him to be involved with the local choir, the "Char Val Singers" for 53 years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby recognizes The Honorable Donald L. Dolde for his contributions to the Borough of Bridgeville and to the enhancement of the well-being of the citizens of Bridgeville and Allegheny County. Mr. Dolde acted always in the best interests of his constituents, and we thank him for his genuine and unwavering public service.
