This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Captain Carl Toscolani for his heroic efforts to save residents lives, responding to a house fire on April 22, 2006. Despite heavy smoke and without regard for his personal safety, Captain Toscolani proceeded through the house on hands and knees, and upon locating the resident, Captain Toscolani led him outside to safety. Although the resident was given emergency treatment for smoke inhalation, Captain Toscolani's actions prevented more serious personal injury and possible loss of life. This Council thanks Captain Toscolani and commends him for his spirit of caring and selflessness, which serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the residents of Allegheny County
