This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Joseph Michael Ford of Boy Scout Troop 854 in recognition of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting; less than 2 percent of all male youth are able to earn this rank. Mr. Ford has met all necessary requirements in areas of Leadership, Service and Outdoor Skills to advance to the Eagle Scout rank. This Council commends Mr. Ford’s diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career and his dedication to our community. For his leadership service project, Joe constructed a contemplative patio at the shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary benefitting St. Irenaeus Catholic Church. Joe first cleared the area and dug out the space for the patio and then installed the patio blocks to be flush with the ground. To complete the project, Joe installed concrete benches and a flower urn on the patio. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Ford has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
