Proclamation recognizing the 50th anniversary of St. Angela Merici Parish.

 

Body

WHEREAS, St. Angela Merici Parish was established in June of 1958 in White Oak, Pennsylvania as part of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh; and

 

WHEREAS, the parish holds true to its vision, “to foster a loving and caring community based on Catholic tradition, by celebrating together, helping one another, and reaching out to all, to spread the good news of the gospel throughout White Oak and the World” ; and

 

WHEREAS, throughout the past 50 years, St. Angela Merici Parish has provided a number of social and spiritual services to the parish and the community; and

 

WHEREAS, St. Angela Merici Parish has distinguished itself through its educational programs for spiritual growth and Catholic faith formation; and

 

WHEREAS, the parish has also focused on fostering a sense of family community identity by stressing the awareness of family needs in the parish; and

 

WHEREAS, under the current leadership of Reverend Stephen M. Chervenak, St. Angela Merici Parish continues to serve as a testament to the faith and will of Catholics throughout Allegheny County;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates St. Angela Merici Parish on the momentous occasion of its 50th anniversary in White Oak.  Furthermore, we wish you continued success throughout your next 50 years.
