Proclamation recognizing Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Reporter Jeffrey Cohan for his thoroughness and commitment in covering County news for the residents of Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, February 15, 2005 marks the last day that Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Reporter Jeffrey Cohan will cover a meeting of the Allegheny County Council before embarking on a new endeavor; and

 

WHEREAS, Jeff's presence at committee meetings and Council meetings has always reflected his instinct for news, a determination to ask pointed questions, and a commitment to reporting the news that matters to the citizens of this County; and

 

WHEREAS, having a “nose for news” has resulted in news stories that have provided in-depth information about the actions of County government, an accomplishment that has also resulted in County residents becoming more aware of Allegheny County Council's role in the policy making process for the County; and

 

WHEREAS, his tongue-in-cheek humor, always interwoven throughout his news stories, has made even dry subjects entertaining and interesting to readers; that sense of humor will be missed by the Members of this Council, but will surely be appreciated by those with whom he will now be interacting at UJF;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the residents of Allegheny County, does hereby recognize Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Reporter Jeffrey Cohan on this, his last day covering Allegheny County Council, for his thoroughness and commitment in covering County news for the residents of Allegheny County; further, we wish him the best of luck and continued success in all of his future endeavors.
