Proclamation recognizing Paige Morningstar, a senior at North Allegheny High School, for being named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Female High School Athlete of the Year.

WHEREAS, Paige Morningstar, a senior at North Allegheny Highschool was named 2020-21 MaxPreps Female High School Athlete of the Year; and
WHEREAS, as a volleyball and basketball standout, Paige won four volleyball championships and one basketball crown at North Allegheny; and
WHEREAS, in the 2020-21 season, Paige posted 715 assists, 97 digs, 91 kills, 41 blocks and 30 aces for the 18-0 volleyball team, while averaging 9.3 points per game and 5.7 boards for the 27-1 basketball team; and
WHEREAS, as the daughter of former NBA player Darren Morningstar, athleticism runs through Paige’s veins. She also has two older sisters, Meg and Piper, that have paved the way as Morningstar champions at North Allegheny; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Paige has collected a trophy case full of medals and awards. During her athletic career, Paige has received the following accreditations: all-state three times in volleyball, 2020 Post-Gazette Girls Volleyball Play of the Year, Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year, 2020 Female Athlete of the Year by Trib HSSN in Volleyball and basketball, just to name a few; and
WHEREAS, after her graduation from North Allegheny, Paige will continue her volleyball career at the University of Louisville where she plans to major in Business;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny Council Member Cindy Kirk, do hereby commend and recognize Paige Morningstar for being named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Female High School Athlete of the Year, and I commend you for bringing lasting fame and recognition to Allegheny County through your athletic achievements, which serves as an inspiration to us all.
