Proclamation congratulating the ten individual recipients of the 2005 South Side Local Development Company Volunteer Recognition Award for their exceptional contribution to enhancing the South Side neighborhood in various program areas including housing, education, health and social services, community development, job training, crime prevention, and community participation.
Body
WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals and organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the South Side Local Development Company is a Community Development Corporation whose primary activities have resulted in the historic preservation and economic revitalization of Pittsburgh's South Side; and
WHEREAS, in 1997, South Side Local Development Company and its corporate partner PNC Bank qualified to participate in the highly competitive Neighborhood Assistance Program Volunteer Recognition Awards Program which is awarded as a tax credit by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby recognizes and congratulates congratulating the ten individual recipients of the 2005 South Side Local Development Company Volunteer Recognition Award for their exceptional contribution to enhancing the South Side neighborhood in various program areas including housing, education, health and social services, community development, job training, crime prevention, and community participation.
