Proclamation honoring the 100th anniversary of Moose Lodge 142 of the Borough of Elizabeth.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is privileged to have residing within its borders fraternal organizations that build neighborly relationships and offer invaluable community services; and

                     

WHEREAS, Moose Lodge 142 of the Borough of Elizabeth celebrates its 100th anniversary on September 27, 2009, commemorating its long history of bringing together members of the borough and helping those in need; and

 

WHEREAS, consistently promoting a viable community spirit since its inception in 1909, the lodge's impressive longevity as a fixture of Allegheny County is to be commended; and

 

WHEREAS, the centennial ceremony also celebrates the Mooseheart Organization, which allows underprivileged children to experience the wholesomeness of a home environment and to help them receive the best education available to them; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the members of Moose Lodge 142 have brought an unparalleled generosity, volunteerism, and charity to Allegheny County, an unmatched display of goodwill that has resonated throughout our area;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby honors Moose Lodge 142 of the Borough of Elizabeth upon the occasion of its 100th year of existence.  We commend the lodge for increasing a sense of community among the citizens of Allegheny County and for consistently helping the less fortunate.  We hope the lodge continues to remain a fixture of our County for many years to come.
