Proclamation celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania Wildlife Center.

WHEREAS, the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania Wildlife Center, a hospital for native wildlife located in Verona, Pennsylvania, is dedicated to global conservation through education, research and professional veterinary care; and
WHEREAS, the Wildlife Center provides leadership to individuals and institutions by fostering an appreciation for wildlife and the environment; and
WHEREAS, since 1997 the Wildlife Center has experienced tremendous growth, and the professional staff continue to provide quality treatment for animals in need, handle successful releases of native species, and develop new and improved educational experiences; and
WHEREAS, to celebrate 10 years of rehabilitation and release of Pennsylvania's native species, the Animal Rescue League will host “A Wild & Wholey Bash” on September 18, 2007 at Calico Jack's Cantina on Pittsburgh's North Shore. The event will feature an open bar, appetizers, celebrity guests and a “Wholey” fish fry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and commend the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania Wildlife Center for its dedication and commitment to serving the wildlife of southwestern Pennsylvania.
FURTHERMORE, we join the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania in celebrating the momentous occasion of the Wildlife Center's 10 year anniversary.
