WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh roots of Eaton Corporation's Electrical Group go back more than 100 years; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation has strengthened its commitment to the Pittsburgh region by constructing a 120,000 square-foot expansion of its Moon Township Electrical Group headquarters; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by constructing a building that is eligible for Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation's Electrical Group employs 1,300 people in the Pittsburgh region; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation's Electrical Group is a global technology leader in electrical control, power distribution, power quality, automation, and monitoring products and services; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation's Electrical Group helps companies worldwide achieve sustainability and a competitive advantage through effective management of their power systems; and
WHEREAS, Eaton Corporation is a leading supporter of electrical safety research to prevent workplace accidents caused by electricity;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council congratulates Eaton Corporation as it prepares to dedicate the expansion of its group headquarters. Furthermore, we hereby declare Monday, September 29, 2008 “Eaton Corporation Electrical Group Day” in Allegheny County.
