Proclamation honoring Mr. Clifford W. Flegal, Sr. for his efforts over the past 45 years as Chair of the City of McKeesport's Flag Day Ceremony.

WHEREAS, throughout his life Mr. Clifford W. Flegal, Sr. has been an active member of his community and an involved veteran, serving in the United States Navy during World War II and as a member of both the AMVETS Post 8, of McKeesport, and the American Legion Post 380, of Dravosburg; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Flegal has served as Chair of the McKeesport Flag Day Ceremony for the past 45 years; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Chair of the Flag Day Ceremony, Mr. Flegal has emphasized the importance of the flag of the United States, highlighting its origins and history and sharing, with firsthand knowledge, what it means to those who have fought for the freedoms that it represents; and
WHEREAS, the 2014 Flag Day Ceremony will serve to remember those local veterans who have passed away over the past year, honoring them for their service and commitment to our country and our flag;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Mr. Flegal for his lifelong dedication to the United States of America, its flag and the values on which our great country was founded. Council hereby bestows its most sincere thanks to Mr. Flegal for his efforts over the past 45 years and extends its most profound wishes for the success of McKeesport's Flag Day Ceremony this year and for many years to come.
