Proclamation congratulating Reverend Robert W. Herrmann, Pastor of the Holy Trinity Parish, upon the momentous occasion of his retirement.

WHEREAS, on July 9, 2007, Reverend Robert W. Herrmann will officially retire as Pastor of the Holy Trinity Church, located in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Father Herrmann is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the home parish of St. Margaret, Greentree, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Fr. Herrmann is a graduate of Central Catholic High School, and he earned a bachelor of arts degree from St. Vincent College. He studied for the priesthood at St. Mary Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland, where he received an S.T.B. and S.T.L. in theology. Fr. Herrmann was ordained at St. Paul Cathedral on May 31, 1958 by Bishop John F. Deardon; and
WHEREAS, his first assignment was as assistant pastor of St. Joseph, Mt. Oliver, later serving as assistant pastor at St. Joseph, Duquesne, and Most Holy Name of Jesus, Northside, and as pastor of St. Michael, Southside. He became pastor of Holy Trinity Parish on January 31, 1979. Father held the position of Dean of the Southwest Deanery for several terms; and
WHEREAS, Fr. Herrmann is a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Robinson Association of Churches, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Appalachian Trail Conference and National Geographic Society; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure at Holy Trinity Parish, Fr. Herrmann oversaw the building of the school gymnasium (2001), which was named in his honor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council along with the Allegheny County Treasurer does hereby recognize and congratulate Reverend Robert W. Herrmann upon the momentous occasion of his retirement. We commend Father Herrmann for his dedication and commitment to serving the community, and we wish him continued blessings on his well-deserved retirement.
