WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals, such as the Mayor of Brentwood, Kenneth E. Lockhart, Sr., that are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhoods and the community as a whole; and

WHEREAS, in 1972, Mayor Lockhart graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing, studying Radiology at St. Francis Hospital, which is where he met Sue, his wife of 33 years. After graduating he began working for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, in 1974, he joined the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company serving as Assistant Chief, Captain, Engineer, Lieutenant and Chaplain, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and he was instrumental in the formation of Brentwood Emergency Medical Services; and

WHEREAS, in 1982, he started working for South Side Hospital working 40 hour weekends and 40 hours during the week with a mobile x-ray company. In 1986, he opened his own business, Osborne Mobile Diagnostic Services, which has been in service for more than 19 years, providing x-rays and related services to homebound and nursing home patients; and

WHEREAS, in 2000, he was elected to Brentwood Council, and while serving as President of Council in 2002, he was elected Mayor of Brentwood. In the 2005 General Election, voters displayed their confidence in Lockhart by electing him for a second term; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Lockhart's 32 years of community service include serving as a Life Member of the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Co., Founding Member of Brentwood EMS, Member of the Pennsylvania Mayors Association, Member of the Allegheny County Mayors Association, Member of the Brentwood, Baldwin, and Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, Founding Member of Brentwood Cares, a group that sends care packages to Brentwood men and women serving in the armed forces, Member of the 4th of July Committee and Chairman of the...
