Proclamation commending the community service of Ralph and Mimi Falbo.

WHEREAS, Heritage Community Initiatives is a 26-year-old nonprofit organization whose programs transform individual lives and entire communities in some of Southwestern Pennsylvania's most economically distressed areas; and
WHEREAS, the organization supplies unparalleled guidance and support to these communities by providing an early-learning network for children, a work-community program that offers job training and work-support services, and an effort to develop affordable housing and homeownership preparation for first-time homebuyers; and
WHEREAS, Heritage Community Initiatives could not help community members move from poverty and despair to self-sufficiency and pride without the unceasing dedication from the people who live and work in the communities the organization serves; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Mimi Falbo is a nurse, an executive consultant, and a committed volunteer who has spent her entire career bringing quality health care to low-income communities to sustain their vitality; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ralph Falbo is a developer, a builder, and an executive who has spent his career creating affordable and appealing housing by working side-by-side with nonprofit organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, recognizes the generous and lasting contributions that Mimi and Ralph Falbo have made to the communities that Heritage Community Initiatives serves. We encourage other citizens of the County to steadfastly support the efforts of this valuable organization by sacrificing their time and supplying their dedication to this invaluable cause.
