This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Benjamin James Diffendal of Boy Scout Troop 366 in recognition of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting; less than 2 percent of all male youth are able to earn this rank. Mr. Diffendal has met all necessary requirements in areas of Leadership, Service and Outdoor Skills to advance to the Eagle Scout rank. This Council commends Mr. Diffendal’s diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career and his dedication to our community. For his leadership service project, Benjamin designed and constructed a 56-foot long bridge which allows hikers to pass over a flood-prone area of the trail in Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair. He led a group of volunteers and together moved more than 2,000 pounds of materials approximately one-half mile into a heavily wooded area that is only accessible by foot. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Diffendal has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
