This Certificate of Recognition is presented to the Glassport Police Department for investigating a rash of burglaries in the Glassport community and the apprehension of a burglary suspect.  The burglaries, which began at the end of December 2007 and continued through the second week of January 2008, affected 5 businesses in the Glassport area.  The Glassport Police Department sent out several police officers in plain clothes to investigate the burglaries, in addition to the officers already on duty.  During the second week of January 2008, the following members of the Glassport Police Department were successful in apprehending the burglary suspect:  Sergeant on Duty Clifford LaFever and Officer on Duty Nicholas Caito, and the members investigating in plain clothes, Sergeant Shawn DeVerse, who was accompanied by Officers Jason Shallenberger, Raymond Johnson, and Todd Kiggins.  We thank you for your dedication to service and for your commitment to protecting the safety of the residents of Glassport.  You have made Allegheny County a better place to live, and for that, we commend you.
