Certificate of Recognition commending Cliff McElrath, Sr. for his 50 years of service to the McKeesport Volunteer Fire Company No. 3.

WHEREAS, Cliff McElrath, Sr. became a member of the West Mifflin Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 in 1959; and
WHEREAS, throughout Mr. McElrath's career, he rose through the ranks of the fire company's executive offices and fire-fighting positions; and
WHEREAS, in 1961, only two years into his service at the fire company, he was elected lieutenant and director; in the succeeding years he held the offices of treasurer, captain, assistant chief, chief and vice president; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McElrath's peers have recognized that throughout his career he was usually the first to respond to the company's siren, the first to set up an initial response, and the first to direct or assist in directing other members to their respective stations as they responded; and
WHEREAS, his dedication and his loyalty to the company, his reputation for honesty, and his concern for the well being of his fellow firemen are to be commended and mirrored by all members of the company;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of our great county, congratulate Mr. McElrath on the longevity of his service with the West Mifflin Volunteer Fire Company. Furthermore, we wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors.
