WHEREAS, Busy Beaver, a hardware and home improvement company, will be opening its newest location in a 22,000 square-foot store on Plummer Street in Lawrenceville on Saturday, October 11, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Busy Beaver Building Centers was founded in 1962 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a distributor of roofing, lumber and building material products to professional contractors and do it yourself customers; and
WHEREAS, today, Busy Beaver operates 15 full line home improvement centers in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, with Pittsburgh serving as its home and headquarters; and
WHEREAS, the grand opening celebration will feature an official "board cutting" ceremony with elected officials, local organizations, family-friendly activities, gift-card giveaways, food and drink, musical performances, and do-it-yourself seminars;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Busy Beaver upon the occasion of its newest store's grand opening, and we welcome the neighborhood home improvement center to the community of Lawrenceville.
