Proclamation honoring the Town of McCandless' three volunteer fire departments in conjunction with the McCandless Fire and Rescue Annual Appreciation Dinner and Banquet.

WHEREAS, the Town of McCandless is protected by three volunteer fire companies that cooperatively answer the challenging call of duty and selflessly serve the community; and
WHEREAS, on November 14, 2009 the Town of McCandless recognizes the firefighters and workers of the Highland Volunteer Fire Department, the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company and the Peebles District Volunteer Fire Company at the McCandless Fire and Rescue Services Annual Appreciation Dinner and Banquet; and
WHEREAS, these volunteers have sacrificed countless hours to serve and protect the community of McCandless; by committing themselves to receiving continuous safety education, state-certified instruction and equipment training, the volunteers have become experts in safety and fire prevention; and
WHEREAS, friends, family and guests of the volunteer firefighters and operations staffs join the fire departments in celebration of the tireless efforts that these volunteers provide on a daily basis; without the support of these people, the fire companies would not be possible;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, does hereby recognize and honor the volunteer fire and rescue workers from the Highland Volunteer Fire Department, the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company and the Peebles District Volunteer Fire Company. We thank each department for their contributions to the community, for they serve as an inspiration to this council and to the residents of Allegheny County.
