This certificate of achievement is presented to Thomas Jefferson High School students Julie Tambellini and Becky Dalton, who both recently earned first place at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Region VII Science Fair.  Ms. Tambellini and Ms. Dalton, with the help of their science teacher, Wendy Matta, Mark Krotec of Central Catholic High School, Dr. Carrie Doonan of Carnegie Mellon University, and Pitt-Greensburg's Dr. Mark Stauffer, won their respective categories- microbiology and ecology- garnering them spots at the 2008 PJAS state competition.  On behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, we join with you in celebration of your distinguished achievements and we recognize you as inspirations for all young women who pursue interests in the field of science.
