Proclamation congratulating The Honorable Greg Domian of Sharpsburg Council for being named Council Member of the Year by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs.
Body...
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gregory Domian, a lifelong resident of Sharpsburg, has been recognized by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) as the 2017 Council Member of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Domian has served on the Sharpsburg Borough Council for three years and chairs the personnel committee, the finance and public safety committees and represents the borough on the North Hills tax collection committee; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Domian coordinates the annual Sharps Fishing Tournament on the Allegheny River that brings hundreds of anglers to the public fishing pier and boat launch at 13th Street. He also runs the Open Streets Health and Fitness Awareness Day which encourages people to walk or bike through town and visit the local businesses; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Domian rejuvenated the Sharpsburg Wolves basketball league in 2014 as a way to give local teenagers something to do with their time. In addition to serving as the head coach of the Sharpsburg Wolves, he coaches the 7th-grade travel basketball team for the Fox Chapel Area School District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate The Honorable Gregory Domian for being named the 2017 Council Member of the Year by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs, and we thank him for his outstanding community service and generosity of spirit which has enhanced the quality of life for the residents of Sharpsburg.
