Proclamation recognizing Mr. Thomas Bonura for his 50 years of dedicated service to the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company.

WHEREAS, throughout the history of our storied County, great citizens have answered the challenging call of duty by placing their lives at risk to secure the safety and protection of their neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas Bonura, has dedicated 50 years of service as a Firefighter for Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company - Station 232. Mr. Bonura answered the challenging call of public service and placed his life at risk to secure the safety and protection of his neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bonura’s invaluable knowledge of safety and firefighting techniques assisted in bettering Pleasant Hills and its surrounding communities. During his 50 years at Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company - Station 232, Mr. Bonura held the following positions: Assistant Chief, Lieutenant, President, Vice President, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Business Manager, Firefighter. Additionally, he is currently the Pleasant Hills Borough Fire Code Official and a Pennsylvania State Fire Instructor;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I Allegheny County Council Member John Palmiere, do hereby commend and thank Mr. Thomas Bonura for his 50 years of dedicated service to the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company - Station 232. During his tenure, he truly displayed excellence and commitment to serving the community and his volunteerism placed him at risk to serve our citizens, and for that we are grateful.
