Proclamation recognizing the 30th Anniversary of the Wilson Christian Academy, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Wilson Christian Academy first opened their doors in a rented building in White Oak Borough in September 1977 with 74 students from kindergarten to eighth grade; and
WHEREAS, the very next year the Academy added a high school and moved to a vacant building in Liberty Borough to better fulfill its mission; and
WHEREAS, the Academy today serves approximately 500 students from pre-school to grade 12 in its current facilities, purchased in 1996, and is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; and
WHEREAS, Wilson Christian Academy's stated goal is for students to achieve excellence academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally; for those students to gain an understanding of God's Word in order to develop a Christian world view and to become servant-leaders impacting the world around them;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council joins Wilson Christian Academy in celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of this remarkable institution and the sustained growth and development that this service institution has achieved in its three decades of operation. The Academy's steadfast dedication to its mission is a notable example of what dedicated men and women can achieve in the fullness of time in our great County, given a worthy mission and clear vision of what they have to offer themselves and others.
