Proclamation recognizing Donald Similo for his 40 years of dedicated service to Elizabeth Township.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as Mr. Donald “Don” Similo, who has placed his stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, as both a public servant and strong leader; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Similo was elected to Elizabeth Township board of commissioners where he served as a Ward 1 commissioner for 40 years; and
WHEREAS, a longtime resident of Elizabeth Township, Mr. Similo is passionate about upholding community values and creating functional and effective legislation for his community; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Mr. Similo has displayed unwavering dedication towards Elizabeth Township, and with constant determination he has been able to make improvements on infrastructure and enhance quality of life for the 13,110 residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Bob Macey, do hereby recognizes Mr. Donald Similo for his contributions to Elizabeth Township and to the enhancement of the wellbeing of its citizens. Mr. Similo acted always in the best interests of the township’s citizens and his unwavering commitment to the board of commissioners serves as an exemplary model of leadership. This Council thanks him for his 40 years of dedicated public service and we wish him well as he moves into the future.
