This Certificate of Recognition is presented to Esther's Hobby Shop in honor of your 70^th anniversary in business.  Esther's Hobby Shop was opened in 1938 by current owner Bob Mehler's mother, Esther.  Originally called “The Coffee Shop,” it was a variety store that sold everything from ice cream to toys.  Over the past 70 years, the shop has become the go-to destination for customers in search of model railroad sets, serving as the largest N-Scale shop in Western Pennsylvania.  Esther's Hobby Shop has withstood numerous hardships with dignity, including the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and the advent of video games, and remains a staple in the Millvale community.  On behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, we join with Esther's Hobby Shop as you celebrate your 80^th anniversary and we wish you many more years of success.
