Allegheny County Council does hereby commend Ms. Kristen Hrizo for earning 1^st place in the 2007 Congressional High School Arts Competition for the 14^th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  Ms. Hrizo's mixed media composition, “A Walk in the Jungle” was one of 33 entries from eight schools throughout the 14^th District.  The Congressional Arts Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors the annual contest, which is open to students in all public and private high schools and home-schooled students across the country.  Ms. Hrizo's piece will be displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel, a walkway to the Capitol.  We congratulate her on this accomplishment and recognize her dedication and unparalleled commitment to excellence which serves as a shining example to all of Allegheny County.
