Proclamation honoring Theresa O'Leary's career of service to the community and CCAC.
Body
WHEREAS, Theresa M. O'Leary, a 1998 graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, has exemplified the definition of a dedicated contributor to the institution of higher learning and to the community of Allegheny County over the course of her impressive career; and
WHEREAS, as an employee of the Community College of Allegheny County, Ms. O'Leary has provided over 30 years of unwavering service to the school and invaluable assistance to the development of the alumni program and alumni database; and
WHEREAS, Ms. O'Leary has established two scholarships at the college: the Williams Roach Memorial Scholarship, which was established in September 2008 and has raised nearly $6,000 to date, and the Brill/Erdner Scholarship, which was established in March 2003 and has raised nearly $25,000 to date; both scholarships provide assistance for student learners determined to further their education at CCAC; and
WHEREAS, Ms. O'Leary devotes herself as a community volunteer to PAennsylvania Connecting Communities - an organization empowering disabled individuals to improve the quality of their lives - and Susan G. Komen for the Cure - the breast cancer awareness foundation where Ms. O'Leary has volunteered for the past 10 years;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, recognizes Theresa M. O'Leary, a 1998 graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, for her proactive service within the college and within the County. Her ambition and fine leadership should be adopted by residents of the County for the betterment of our community.
