Proclamation congratulating St. Anne Catholic Church in Castle Shannon upon the occasion of its 125th anniversary.

WHEREAS, the original St. Anne Catholic Church in Castle Shannon was one of the earliest congregations of any denomination in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1889, St. Anne's Parish was formed from German Catholic farming families; and
WHEREAS, the original church building, dedicated in 1892, served the parish for 70 years, until the current church building was completed in 1962; and
WHEREAS, for 125 years, St. Anne Catholic Church has stood as a pillar of the local community, providing service ministries and spiritual guidance to generations of families and individuals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates St. Anne Catholic Church upon the momentous occasion of its 125th Anniversary, and we wish the Church and its congregation continued blessings and express the pride Allegheny County takes in the Church's contributions and services to all citizens of Allegheny County.
