An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the County’s acceptance of the donation of fifty (50) Miller Revolution Harnesses, fifty (50) Miller Turbo T-BAK Personal Fall Limiters, ten (10) Double Back Biter with Soft Stop, and ten (10) Single Back Biter Lanyard with Soft Stop from the United States Steel Corporation.

Whereas, United States Steel Corporation (“USS”) has offered to donate fifty (50) Miller Revolution Harnesses, fifty (50) Miller Turbo T-BAK Personal Fall Limiters, ten (10) Double Back Biter with Soft Stop, and ten (10) Single Back Biter Lanyard with Soft Stop (“Fall Harnesses and Lanyards”) to the County for use by the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy; and
Whereas, the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy wishes to accept the aforesaid donation of Fall Harnesses and Lanyards for use in rescue and fire safety training; and
Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2(j) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County’s Council with the power to accept donations of personal property on behalf of the County.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to Accept Donated Equipment.
A. County Council does hereby authorize the acceptance of USS’s donation of Fall Harnesses and Lanyards.
B. The donated Fall Harnesses and Lanyards shall be used by the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy for rescue and fire safety training.
C. The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be ...
