An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing South Park Boxing, Inc. to continue to use real property on Hundred Acres Drive in the County’s South Park to conduct organized boxing and fitness training activities.

Whereas, for more than two decades, South Park Boxing Inc, a 501c3 non-profit organization, has had exclusive use of a two-story structure on Hundred Acres Drive in the County’s South Park for the purpose of conducting organized boxing and fitness training activities; and
Whereas, the second floor of the building is a registered USA Boxing Training Center where certified boxing coaches oversee weekly training sessions for competitive youth boxers. The organization places emphasis on teamwork, improving health, and building self-confidence for its young participants. The Center is home to two current Western PA Golden Gloves Champions (2024 & 2025). The first floor of the structure is used as a fitness gym where free boxing, and other physical training classes are conducted by certified coaches for participants of all ages and abilities; and
Whereas, in addition to providing basic daily maintenance and upkeep, South Park Boxing, Inc furnishes all training equipment and has completed structural upgrades including the recent installation of a new garage door; and
Whereas, South Park Boxing, Inc. has had exclusive use of County-owned real property in the County’s South Park for many years and wishes to continue to use the structure on Hundred Acres Drive without interruption; and
Whereas, County Council believes that permitting South Park Boxing Inc. to use the designated structure in the County’s South Park for boxing training and fitness activities will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real prope...
