Proclamation congratulating the Human Services Center Corporation of the Mon Valley Providers Council upon the momentous occasion of its 25th Anniversary.
Body
WHEREAS, the Human Services Center Corporation (HSCC), a non-profit organization, was created in 1982 under the leadership and guidance of the Mon Valley Providers Council; and
WHEREAS, the mission of HSCC is to improve the quality of life for children, adults, and families in the Mon Valley area; and
WHEREAS, it fulfills this mission in four ways: 1) serving as a collaborative leader by promoting and supporting a network of providers within and outside the walls of its multi-purpose center, 2) serving as a bridge between human service organizations and those who develop policies and funding that impact the quality of life in the Mon Valley area, 3) monitoring community needs and initiating innovative strategies to fill service gaps, and 4) providing essential services to both community members and human service organizations; and
WHEREAS, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Human Services Center Corporation a free community celebration will feature a health and safety fair for children, adult health screenings, a free dinner, prizes, and carnival games on May 18, 2007;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and congratulate the Human Services Center Corporation upon the momentous occasion of its 25th Anniversary and we thank the agency for its work which has enhanced the quality of life for residents in the Mon Valley region.
