Certificate of Recognition honoring the 150th anniversary of St. John of the Cross Lutheran Church in Dravosburg.

Body

Allegheny County Council is honored to present this Certificate of Recognition to St. John of the Cross Lutheran Church in Dravosburg upon the monumental occasion of the church's 150th anniversary.  In 1859, the First German Evangelical Lutheran St. John's Congregation of Mifflin Township was organized and, besides a temporary closing for a few years in the early portion of the 20th century, grew steadily.  The congregation adapted with the changing times throughout its history, adding electronic chimes, new organs, fresh choir robes and Saturday night liturgies to its repertoire. When the name of the church officially changed on December 31, 1989, the congregation was an established piece of the community.  We congratulate you on this historic milestone and your terrific history in our County, and we hope the congregation continues to instill faith in community members for many years to come.
