Proclamation thanking Ms. Betty Borello for her 26 years of dedicated service to the Community College of Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, for 26 years, Ms. Betty Borello has been a dedicated employee of the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) Boyce Campus as the Director of the CCAC Boyce Campus Child Development Center; and
WHEREAS, for more than 15 years under the leadership of Ms. Borello, the Boyce Campus CDC has received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the largest and most widely recognized accreditation system for early childhood programs and child care centers; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Borello was instrumental in securing more than $40,000 in grant awards as a Keystone 4 STAR facility from the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Ms. Borello provided guidance and support to the early childhood practicum students, occupational therapy assistants, nursing and work study students; Ms. Borello also served as the CDC Club Advisor, successfully building partnerships with families; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Borello is a member of the Board of Advisors for the early childhood program of the Forbes Road Technology Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby commends Ms. Betty Borello for her 26 years of dedicated service to the Community College of Allegheny County. Her impact on this community, and her commitment to Allegheny County and its citizens, serves as an inspiration to us all.
