Proclamation welcoming the 91st Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women Convention to Pittsburgh and Allegheny County from August 15-17, 2014.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County, in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby welcome the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women (PFRW) to our beautiful city and county as the group hosts their 91st Annual Convention at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from August 15-17, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the 2014 Convention, dedicated in remembrance of Arlene Davis and Barbara Hagg, PFRW Directors Emerita, will bring together Republican dignitaries from across the Commonwealth and will feature panel discussions, special workshops, delicious food and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, in keeping with PFRW President Meryl Hatton's theme of "Our Children, Our Future," the 2014 Convention Community Service Project will benefit students in need through a collection of school supplies; and
WHEREAS, as part of the "Our Children, Our Future" theme, a new "Junior Council Member Award" will recognize a young person that has demonstrated leadership and service within a local council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby welcome the 91st Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women Convention to Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, and we invite you to discover the many great things our city and county have to offer. We are honored to share the heart of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County with you and your families, and we wish those attending enjoy a successful convention and memorable experience.
