Proclamation congratulating the Bradford Woods Conservancy upon the occasion of its 25th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, a fund of the Allegheny Land Trust, the Bradford Woods Conservancy will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Friday, March 22, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the Bradford Woods Conservancy, owned and managed by the Bradford Woods Borough, is dedicated to promoting and maintaining the natural beauty of the Bradford Woods; and
WHEREAS, largely sustained by a volunteer community, Bradford Woods Conservancy is a mostly wooded, publicly accessible conservation. It has a small system of waterways that flow into Pine Creek and a small pond that is stocked by volunteers for recreational fishing. The 4.2-acre reserve is a great place for people to go hiking, biking, bird-watching, running, and enjoying many other outdoor activities; and
WHEREAS, over the past 25 years, the Bradford Woods Conservancy has promoted education, appreciation and conservation of the community, and encouraged environmental stewardship of natural resources as they affect Bradford Woods and the surrounding communities; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council Member Cindy Kirk, do hereby honor and congratulate the Bradford Woods Conservancy upon the occasion of its 25th Anniversary, and I thank them for their continued dedication to trail building and maintenance, and educating all about the many aspects of the local environment.
