Proclamation honoring the Sisters of Divine Providence for their years of dedication to the children at Providence Child Care Center South.
Body
WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals and organizations who dedicate their lives to instilling values in our youth that will remain with them throughout the rest of their lives; and
WHEREAS, since 1984, Providence Child Care Center South, formerly known as St. Anne Day Care, was opened in Castle Shannon by St. Anne Parish to provide child care services for families with children ages 2 through 5; and
WHEREAS, in 1994, the Center became part of Providence Connections, an outreach of the Sisters of Divine Providence and was re-named Providence Child Care Center South; and
WHEREAS, the Center, which expanded to include infants in 1997, has long been recognized as one committed to serving the community, taking on charity cases and going easy on families who found it difficult to pay their monthly bills on time; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated staff at the Center worked with children to create a stimulating environment in which children developed language skills, perceptual and cognitive skills, and fine and gross motor skills; and
WHEREAS, additionally, the staff fostered creativity through art, music and play, helped children develop strong Christian values, and taught children to practice safety and health skills;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County hereby commends the staff of the Providence Child Care Center South for your years of committed service to the youth and families of the Castle Shannon area. On behalf of the residents of Allegheny County, we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
