Proclamation commending Italian Sons and Daughters of America National President Ralph Hartford for his vast contributions to Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed to have leaders who commit themselves wholeheartedly to serving and representing our region with the utmost dedication and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Hartford was recently re-elected as National President of the Order Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hartford has been a member of the ISDA, a fraternal benefit organization, since he was 15 years old; and
WHEREAS, through his work with the ISDA, Mr. Hartford has been an invaluable participant in local ISDA-sponsored social activities, including the Columbus Day Parade, the Italian Day Outing, and a debutante ball, and has helped orchestrate benefits including scholarships, life insurance programs, and tax deferred annuity programs for members of the ISDA, 9,000 of who reside in Western Pennsylvania alone; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work with the ISDA, Mr. Hartford sold insurance privately prior to joining the Pennsylvania State Insurance Commission, following which he acted as Chief Investigator for the Western Pennsylvania District;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council commends Ralph Hartford for his many contributions to our region. You have set a standard of excellence that serves as an inspiration to the members of this Council and to all the residents of Allegheny County.
