This Certificate of Recognition is presented to Ms. Doris Hall Evans Curry upon the momentous occasion of her 100th birthday and in recognition of her lifelong achievements and contributions to her family and the residents of the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ms. Curry graduated from Schenley High School in 1931 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and English from the University of Pittsburgh in 1935. Through her leadership, Ms. Curry, the first African American woman to be appointed Manager at the Pittsburgh Housing Authority, helped many Pittsburgh communities and citizens. We acknowledge Ms. Curry's membership and volunteer service benefitting the senior residents at Vintage, the Modern Grandmothers Club, the Jr. Debs, as a lifetime member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, and as a lifetime member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Ms. Curry is a proud grandparent of two and great-grandmother of three. We commend Ms. Curry for her pursuit of excellence in all of her endeavors; for serving as an impeccable role model for her family; and for setting a positive example for others to emulate. Furthermore, we wish her the best as she celebrates her 100th birthday.
